Hello, Tom Bolton here.
I am a writer and researcher.
I write books and essays about cities, places, landscape and culture.
I am the author of five books: Low Country: Brexit on the Essex Coast; Camden Town: Dreams of Another London; Vanished City: London’s Lost Neighbourhoods and London’s Lost Rivers: A Walker’s Guide Volume 1, and now London’s Lost Rivers Volume 2.
I also write about theatre and music.
I manage research projects and design review panels for Frame Projects.
I have been an academic researcher in the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL, researching a PhD on London railway terminus neighbourhoods, and I still supervise MA students.
I have also been an urban policy researcher, working at Centre for Cities, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and the National Trust.
I give talks and I lead walks.
I also take photos.
